The sun sets on a city Russia doesn’t want you to see.
In Norilsk the smog of the factory chimneys prepares to be engulfed by 40 days of night. Polar winter is here. This is the story of those who see colour amidst the darkness in a part of the world where the snow is black and the air tastes of sulphur.
Black Snow has been made as part of the short film scheme, Postcards from Just So & Sheffield Doc/Fest and is directed by double BAFTA nominee James Newton (The Detectives, Sex Party Secrets, Keeping Britain Alive).
